Many people prefer the look of a traditional baby nursery. This can include a finely crafted crib, combined with beautiful bedding that has the look of bygone eras. A Victorian style baby nursery is an example of this style of decorating. When choosing the crib bedding for a traditionally style nursery, there is usually an emphasis on opulent fabrics, and often there is a lot of detail in the bedding, such as finely crafted hand-sewn quilts. This style of decorating can be quite beautiful, and is often preferred for girl's bedrooms. However, even when selecting an elaborate style of decorating for the nursery, it is important to make sure the bedding meets proper safety standards. Avoid any type of bedding that has decorations that the baby could remove and choke on, and ribbons and bows should be securely attached. Any strings, such as those, which are used to attach baby crib bumper pads, should be trimmed short after tying, and all bedding should fit snugly.

Baby blankets:Baby blankets should be of soft material and must be non toxic. Today there are many types of blankets to choose from that will be soft, smooth, and pleasant smelling with attractive and eye pleasing colors.

The best way to think of it is less is better. The baby is in the bed to sleep not to play or be stimulated in any other way. The toys and even music can be distracting and keep the baby from getting restful sleep. There is also the safety factor. It can be easy for a baby to roll into a pillow or toy that will obstruct its breathing. They don't know to move away if their oxygen supply is compromised. It is up to the parents to remove all of these hazards.

Bedding:The bedding is one of the most fun parts of any nursery (not counting the baby). There are endless choices for the bedding (which usually consists of sheets, bumper, sheets, and comforters). There are many varieties of the traditional pinks and blues patterns, as well as gender-neutral designs for the parents-to-be who wish to be surprised. One of the recent trends in bedding is using bright primary colors, especially combinations of red, black and white. Studies have shown that these colors help the newborn's eyesight focus quicker.
