I went to Babies R Us yesterday to shop for baby girl who will be coming in august. I found this fantastic crib for 499 which I was fine with paying. Its a convertable crib, gorgeous dark cherry stained. What blew my mind was the other pieces of furniture they sell in that cribs “set”. Im going to need a dresser to place all her clothes in but the one invloved in this set was 0 dollars. It was nothing more than a 4 drawer dresser made of the same wood as the crib and stained the same, but it was 100 dollars more than the crib. My problem is that im having distress finding dressers at other furniture stores that match this dark cherry color. Im in like with the crib but 600 bucks for a dresser just seems idiotic. Any suggestions?

i am also due in aug. i found a storkcraft crib on walmart.com that is a 4 in 1 and it was only 0 (assess) and it has furnature you can get with it. i would try wal mart for pieces that might match your stain of the crib if you really like the crib though. “) hope this helps!

We had the same problem
Fell in like with a gorgeous off-white four poster crib that was super spendy but didn’t want to spend even more on a dresser. So, I picked up a free dresser off of craigslist and took a finial from the crib to the home depot. They matched the paint and I painted the dresser the same color.
Now we have a matching set which is fantastic because the dresser was free, I just had to pay for the crib, paint and brushes.
I would keep looking or find a touch that would look excellent with it that doesnt just so match. I would never pay $600 for a 4 drawer dresser!
If no one in our family gets the dresser for us then we are going to use fake bins until we see one that matches that’s a reasonable price. We’re even going to look around on craigslist.org for a used one.

We bought a gorgeous dark cherry crib that is a crib, kid bed, daybed and full size bed all in one. Also bought a 5 drawer dresser and a 3 drawer dresser with a tall cabinet on the side to use the top as changing table. Each piece was only $200 each at Wal-mart. This one is not the exact same but is very similar to what we bought and is only $150. What we bought is the same brand and it is very sturdy.
I looked into the cribs at Baby’s R Us, too. I was reading reviews on them and saw that the paint on them scratched straightforwardly. I went to the store and was able to chip the paint off of a floor model with my fingernail. Just a warning!
I would check craigslist for other pieces in a similar color. Also, you could buy stain that matches or closely matches the color of the crib and stain unfinished pieces to make a set.
Yeah the dressers and other pieces are insanely overpriced at Baby’s R Us. Even the cribs are expensive in my opinion. We bought our changing table and dresser off craigslist. We got each piece for 25$, yet you would never know we payed that. Ours sons nursery twisted out perfectly!
